Is Urban Decay NAKED Ultra-Violet palette worth your money?
A few days back, there was a "SALE" on the NAKED Ultra-violet eyeshadow palette at Sephora. Many people were confused about whether to not buy it due to some bad reviews. Well, it's true that their past eyeshadow, for example, NAKED Originals & NAKED 2, were the best ones on the market. As several makeup brands went from neutral to colourful, even Urban decay choose to go towards colour to be up to date with consumer demands. Many critics claim that the UD NAKED brand's vision was to make neutral and natural eyeshadows. However, they had to play safe, and thus they incorporated vibrant colours and neutral colours to maintain the name "NAKED" and fulfil the consumer's need for colourful eyeshadows.
I love their eyeshadows; if you know how to use them, you will love them! If you have purchased it but find its colour less intense. You could add a black eyeshadow base primer and apply this eyeshadow over it. Believe me; it will look so good!! They look very pigmented under black eyeshadow primer. The whole concept of the "NAKED Eyeshadow Palette" is a mild natural-looking colour. Hence it is not supposed to be highly pigmented. The majority of makeup brands indeed produce eyeshadows that are too pigmented and leave a stain on the skin, but that contradicts Urban decays’ vision of the "NAKED" product line (giving a natural look).
Moreover, while reading reviews, I found out that many people loved this eyeshadow but were upset because the whole eyeshadow palette wasn't purple. Many customers expected this palette to have plum, magenta, and other purple shades closer to its "ULTRAVIOLET" theme. As I mentioned earlier, "NAKED=NEUTRAL COLOURS" thus we get to see a row of vibrant monochromatic purple shades and neutral shades.
URBAN DECAY has done a great job of adding a row of neutral colours and lively colours because we can try many looks now. No matter an everyday look or a glamourous party look! The palette can be helpful for multiple eyes looks. Last but not least. The packaging of this eyeshadow palette is so beautiful! It looks like a mermaid. & its' iridescence looking eyeshadows look like stardust in space!
