Is 10 step skin care routine actually effective ?
Nowadays, we hear about the 10 step skin routine very often after the immense popularity of Korean dramas and Kpop music around the world. Fans began following their fashion, lifestyle and skincare regime like crazy. Korean celebrities are immensely appreciated all over the world because of their never-ageing firm and glowing skin.
Is it actually because they follow 10 step skin routine? Is it genetic? or It is plastic surgery? What are their beauty secrets? In the last few years, the beauty standards in South Korea have become so high that the majority of young teenage girls get surgeries often. An article on business insider mentioned that South Korea has the highest rate of plastic surgeries in the world. I believe it is psychologically damaging because we are all human, and we are not perfect. Unfortunately, the constant pressure of looking the best has damaged self-confidence in youths.
The desire to look best has driven people crazy, especially women, and this weakness is targeted by marketing 10 step skin routines, surgeries and other expensive treatments. The cosmetic sector is earning immense profits by advertising excessive, unnecessary skincare products to sell more and earn more. Korean skincare is the best in the market, and there is no doubt about that. But at the end of the day, is the skin really absorbing tonnes of layers that consumers are feeding its skin "in the name of so-called 10 step skin routine"?
Just imagine eating ten bowls of cereal in a go. Will you have any space in your tummy left to breathe and sit relaxingly? I don't think any one would eat more than 3 to 4 bowls, forget about 10 in the first place.
It is said by dermatologists that our skin can only absorb up to a minimum of four layers of skincare products; beyond that, it will not sink into the skin. So products applied over fourth moisturizer or serum will remain on the top of the skin without properly penetrating. Using ten skincare products isn't necessary. What's essential is to apply the right products on to your skin according to skin type, age and dermatologist's advice. We often try what we see our influencers' using on social media without even consulting a dermatologist at first. A minimum 4 step skin routine works pretty well.
I believe being emotionally strong, happy and satisfied is enough to feel beautiful. Our mental and spiritual health is more important than we think it is. If we are depressed, insecure and mentally exhausted then that shows clearly on our faces. It is not attractive to look gloomy and insecure. No matter how much makeup you do or how fashionable you are, if you are unhappy inside, you won't look confident. Being confident is a natural beauty. Putting others down in order to feel confident amongst the group is absolute narcissism, not beauty. (I will talk about narcissism in another post.)
I know it is challenging to remain confident in the 21st century because of peer pressure, social media and infinite beauty expectations. Don't let these surrounding negative energy affect you. Just Be Your Version of Beautiful!
What are your thoughts? Please feel free to share? I would love to learn more about skincare from everyone. 💟
